There are still MANY, MANY people who can win. I'll figure out all of the possibilities after next weekend. The prize money payout is $700. I'll figure out how to divide it up after I see if Goldberg is going to win or not!!! Steve I'm thinking $10 for first, $5 for 2nd and $685 for third.

Hey Steve how about those VOLS and North carolina? Can't mess with those boys from RALEIGH!!

Hoping for third behind Steve! ;)

Can't say I'm really impressed by this. If you buy a million lottery tickets, your chances of winning increase simply because of the plethora of combinations that are being used. Likewise, if you enter an office pool five times with different combinations of winners, your chances perforce improve.

And regarding UNC--is there ever going to be a tournament when their first two games aren't in Raleigh or Greensboro?

In both instances cited above, the deck seems to be somewhat stacked.

David's Dad

In fairness to Steve G only four of the five brackets he submitted are actually his. The one doing the worst is his nephew's. If we were to throw out his top 3 (something the bastard would no doubt resist) there would still only be 15 brackets doing better than his. Since there are 140 entries I would say that any way you slice it "the Bastard" has picked very well so far. As for the lottery ticket analogy there are 2^63 or 9,223,372,036,854,775,808 different possible outcomes to the tournament so while filling out four does quadruple your odds of winning I think in the long run the odds of just contributing an extra $15 or $20 are much better. He hasn't won anything yet though!!! As for the NC argument I agree 100% that the NCAA gives them preferential treatment and I think they do the same to Duke. The games start again tomorrow night. Enjoy the action!
